CABOT, Vt., Sept. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Reward Volunteers, the popular iPhone App and web widget from Cabot Creamery Cooperative that allows volunteers to track and share the time they spend volunteering, then earn prizes for their selfless work, will be rewarding one lucky Reward Volunteers 4.0 user with an all-expense-paid Caribbean cruise.

One Reward Volunteers 4.0 user will be selected to join a host of other volunteers from across the nation on the Cabot Community Celebrity Cruise in January 2014. The volunteer and a guest of their choice will join more than 40 other likeminded volunteers aboard the Celebrity Cruises® SUMMIT for a six-day, seven-night Caribbean Cruise, courtesy of the 1,200 farm families who own Cabot. The cruise departs San Juan, Puerto Rico and stops in Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Maarten, and St. Thomas, before returning to San Juan. Spending money and round trip airfare for the Cabot Community Celebrities is also included.
The special Reward Volunteers 4.0 cruise winner will be announced, along with September's other Reward Volunteers prizewinners, on October 15.
Reward Volunteers enables individuals and organizations to track the time they spend volunteering in their communities via a free computer widget and easy-to-use iPhone mobile app. At the end of each month, Cabot rewards them for their hard work, and for inspiring friends and family to do the same, with a variety of prizes. Now in its fourth phase, the app has been updated with a number of new features and enhancements, and will honor its participating volunteers with more prizes than ever before.
"Since the very first round of Reward Volunteers in February of last year, we've been rewarding volunteers with a variety of tremendous prizes," says Cabot Director of Marketing & Integrated Services, Jen Neary. "We've given away farm and ski vacations, gift cards, gift baskets, and even cash. This month, we are excited to announce one of the biggest prizes ever – an all-expense-paid Caribbean Cruise for two!"
The Cabot Community Celebrity Award has been honoring the achievements and contributions of volunteers from across the nation since 2010. By partnering with AARP Create the Good, Points of Light, media outlets, and a growing list of other highly-conscious companies, Cabot is able to identify those who serve others, without thought for personal recognition, and honor them with the Community Celebrity Award.
Today also marks the end of the first month of Reward Volunteers 4.0, which launched on August 14. "The fourth phase of the program is already off to a great start," says Neary. "More than 4,920 hours have already been logged by 272 volunteers, to the benefit of 284 organizations."
One of those volunteers is Tonya Walden, a school program director at the Haven Youth Center in Martinsville, Indiana, and winner of the $500 cash reward. "When my husband and I were in high school, we attended The Haven regularly, and now, as adults, we are the role models for this generation of teenagers," Tonya said. "I am so happy to contribute to their lives and give back to the community. I love the Reward Volunteers program. I use the app to keep track of my volunteer hours and to help spread the word about my organization along with volunteerism."
Since the program's inception on February 12, 2012, Reward Volunteers has awarded hundreds of incredible prizes to well-deserving volunteers. The campaign is once again set to honor participating volunteers with some truly remarkable rewards, which will be announced at the end of each month throughout the program. These include:
