The revolutionary Reward Volunteers 4.0 iPhone App and web widget from Cabot Creamery Cooperative enables individuals and organizations to track the time they spend volunteering in their communities. At the end of each month, Cabot rewards them for their hard work, and for inspiring friends and family to do the same, with a variety of prizes. The more hours volunteers log, the more chances they have to win, both for themselves and the organizations they serve. Now in its fourth phase, the app has been updated with a number of new features and enhancements, and will honor its participating volunteers with more prizes than ever before.
Reward Volunteers 4.0 now includes All for Good integration, in collaboration with Points of Light, which manages postings of current and future volunteer opportunities, while at the same time allow volunteers to search for these opportunities by location. Other new features include updated Facebook integration, allowing participants to invite friends to the app via Facebook; 4-inch retina display support that utilizes the larger screens of the iPhone 5; and a tutorial that walks new users through their first post.
Today also marks the end of the third month of Reward Volunteers 4.0, which launched on August 14. Since then, more than 500 volunteers have logged more than 14,000 hours, benefitting nearly 600 organizations across the country.
One of those organizations is the Dove Key Ranch Wildlife Rehabilitation Center from Colorado County, Texas, a donor-supported 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rehabilitation and release of orphaned, injured, and/or ill wildlife. "As the number of wildlife patients that we admit grows, so does our need for physical facilities in which to house them and to train them how to thrive in the wild," says Bonnie Gulas-Wroblewski, the organization's director. "The next project we have lined up on our wish list is a large outdoor conditioning enclosure. We have the volunteer builders secured, the plans drawn up, and the site cleared, but still had ahead of us the daunting task of fundraising to purchase all the necessary construction supplies - that was until we were fortunate enough to win $1,000 from the Reward Volunteers program! Now we can immediately break ground on this life-saving project and provide even more animals with a second chance at life in the wild. We cannot thank Cabot Creamery enough for this outstanding opportunity to immediately help more wildlife in need."
Another of this month's winners is Marisa Nieves from the Give Kids the World Village and Big Brothers Big Sisters in Orlando, Florida, who will be treated to a farm stay at the Mountain View Inn Farm in Vermont. "I love spending my free time bringing joy to others and I love using the Reward Volunteers app," says Marisa. "The app allows me to track my volunteer hours and allows me the chance to win nice prizes and/or money for my charity. It's amazing for a company to reward people who do great things."
Among the many prizes available in Phase 4 of the program are:
- Thousands of dollars in cash prizes for individuals and organizations, including Grand Prizes of $5,000 for one non-profit and $1,500 for one individual
