CABOT, Vt., May 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Cabot Creamery Cooperative- the New England and upstate New York farm-family owned dairy cooperative widely known as the maker's of the "World's Best Cheddar" - is announcing the winners of another successful round of Reward Volunteers 3.0. The program, a free computer widget and easy-to-use mobile app for iPhone, enables individuals and organizations to track the time they spend volunteering in their communities. At the end of each month, Cabot rewards them for their hard work with a variety of prizes, including cash, vacations, gift baskets, and more. From March 31 through May 1, Reward Volunteers participants combined efforts totaled 6,661 hours of volunteer work, benefiting 324 non-profit organizations across the United States.

"Our goal is to have volunteers inspire many of their Facebook friends to get involved by logging their hours through the iPhone app and web widget," says Cabot Director of Marketing & Integrated Services, Jen Neary. "The number of participants just keeps growing. We're three months into Reward Volunteers 3.0, and 18,538 hours have already been logged, benefiting more than 600 non-profit organizations."
"Reward Volunteers is easy and intuitive to use," Neary said. "Participants download the Reward Volunteers iPhone app or use the web widget to log activity and encourage friends to get involved by sharing on Facebook or via email. Participants are also able to take pictures using the iPhone app and share them on Facebook. The more hours users log for the organizations of their choice, the more Reach points they'll earn, which equals more opportunities for them and the organizations they serve to win cash and prizes. They can also earn Reach points by sharing their activity on Facebook or via email. The more "likes" and comments their posts receive, the more Reach points they earn."
Prizes are awarded each month, from February through June, with Grand Prizes being awarded in July. The list of amazing prizes include: cash for individuals and organizations; Liberty Hill Farm vacations; King Arthur Flour gift cards; National Cooperative Grocers Association gift cards; Keurig Coffee Machines with a year supply of Green Mountain Coffee; Cabot Cheddar Gift Baskets; Farm Family Gift Baskets; shoes from Dansko; and much more. Grand Prize Winners will receive big cash prizes, super-sized Cabot Farm Family Gift Baskets, Vermont Ski Passes, and fabulous vacation packages to Liberty Hill Farm, Emergo Farms, Couture Farm, Smugglers Notch, Mountain View Inn, and Escobar's Inn. "I hope Reward Volunteers can help to connect all volunteers and share our visions and resources," said Ken Rice, a San Dieguito River Park volunteer from California, and the winner of a stay at the Mountain View Inn Farm. "The vacation prize will help my wife and I find more opportunities to help others get involved and live our dreams."
This month's winning organization, the Wellness Council for South Carolina, will receive a $1,000 donation from Cabot. "I love the Reward Volunteers App," says Kristi Falk, the organization's founder. "I like being able to see the amount of time I spend on the work that I am most passionate about and knowing that I am making a difference. It is rewarding! The Wellness Council for South Carolina will be hiring some part-time help this summer to work in camps teaching kids about eating healthy, exercising, and protecting the planet. It's the message we relay in everything we do. Thanks again!"
