CA to Speak at Interop About Improving IT Management
Executives to Discuss How Management of Clouds, Virtualization, Networks and Automation Enables New Levels of Agility
ISLANDIA, N.Y., April 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CA (Nasdaq: CA) today announced that two executives will participate in five sessions and panels at Interop® Las Vegas 2010. They will discuss how proper management of public clouds, virtualization, automation, and networks enable IT to respond to business needs with unprecedented speed and efficiency by providing new levels of service quality, efficiency, agility and risk reduction.
Stephen Elliot, CA's vice president of strategy, will deliver an address entitled "Virtualization and Automation: How Dynamic is Your Data Center" on Tuesday, April 27 at 4 p.m. In this session, Elliot will discuss why the over-provisioning model used by data centers for years is unsustainable, and a new dynamic model is emerging, driven by virtualization and automation. He will explain that while these technologies aren't necessarily new, IT departments must increase their competency and skill sets in them to contain costs as business demand for IT services continues to grow.
Elliot will also participate in a panel discussion entitled "Managing Your Virtual Environment." The panel, which will be held on Wednesday, April 28 at 2 p.m., will compare and contrast tools that have emerged to specifically address virtualization management with existing tools that are evolving with new virtualization management capabilities. Attendees will learn about how both of these types of tools can be implemented to help with the long-running challenge of successful end-to-end management.
Steven Guthrie, CA's senior principal of product marketing, will participate in a panel on "How to Manage in a Public Cloud Computing Environment," which will be held Thursday, April 29 at 10:15 a.m. The panel will discuss how to manage performance in this complex environment by examining detailed, consistent data from three separate management domains: the enterprise, a Wide Area Network service provider, and various cloud computing service providers. The audience will also learn how effective IT management requires processes that cross a diverse range of management domains.
Guthrie will participate in two other panels at the conference. The first, entitled "DEEP DIVE – Network Requirements for Enterprise Video Conferencing," will be held on Wednesday, April 28 at 2 p.m. This two-hour session will cover how video conferencing may be the toughest application an enterprise network has to support by placing significant bandwidth demands on the network, while simultaneously demanding priority treatment Quality of Service (QoS). The panel will examine the technical details of designing, testing and managing an enterprise network to support high quality video conferencing and telepresence communications, with deep dives into security, Local Area Network QoS, and WAN QoS issues.
In the other panel, Guthrie will address "Advances in Network Management" on Thursday, April 29 at 11:30 a.m. In this fast-paced session, the panel will discuss some of the most promising emerging network management technologies to help organizations optimize the network for application performance and meet challenges such as mobility and virtualization.
CA will showcase and demonstrate its industry-leading solutions for Application Performance Management, Business-Driven Automation, Recovery Management, Service Assurance, and Service Management at Interop Las Vegas 2010. CA will exhibit in Booth #1831 and 3Tera will exhibit in Booth #651. For more information on Interop, visit www.ca.com/interop.
