ISLANDIA, N.Y., Feb. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CA Technologies (Nasdaq: CA) today announced that Dayton Semerjian, general manager for CA Technologies Mainframe business, will deliver the keynote, "The Future is Now: Next Generation Management" at SHARE, IBM's bi-annual user conference for enterprise technology professionals.
"Given the Mainframe's recent resurgence and the critical role it continues to play as corporate IT strategies increasingly incorporate private and public cloud services, this is an exciting time for customers from around the world to meet at SHARE," said Semerjian. "We are once again pleased to participate in this important event."
According to a recent independent study sponsored by CA, 80 percent of respondents named the mainframe as an important part of their current business strategy, and 73 percent as part of their cloud plans.
Semerjian's keynote will address the Mainframe's resurgence, the impact of zEnterprise on the IT landscape, and how next generation management software can help IT leverage IBM's hardware innovation and meet business key challenges.
In addition to delivering the keynote, executives from CA Technologies will deliver 15 additional presentations that demonstrate CA Technologies' continued commitment and leadership in the mainframe ecosystem, including the development and delivery of innovative management software and educational programs.
In keeping with the conference theme of "Driving Value While Containing Costs," Semerjian's keynote covers three key IT challenges — controlling costs, sustaining critical workforce skills and supporting business agility. He will also demonstrate to SHARE attendees how CA Technologies Mainframe 2.0 strategy and products help customers meet these needs by simplifying mainframe management with innovative new technologies such as CA Mainframe Software Manager and CA Mainframe Chorus.
Semerjian will also discuss CA's Mainframe Academy, an accelerated, vendor-agnostic education program designed to provide new talent with core skills to manage the mainframe environment. He will also preview a new Mainframe Academy scholarship.
Additional CA Technologies highlights at SHARE include:
- Demonstrating Mainframe 2.0 solutions including innovative technology like CA Mainframe Software Manager and CA Mainframe Chorus (Booth #125)
- Presenting on topics like, "The Network in the Cloud," "Identity Governance Best Practices," "Managing the Risks of Virtualization," and "z/OS Performance Monitoring Tools Shootout" and more — a schedule can be found on the SHARE site.
