ISLANDIA, N.Y., Nov. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CA Technologies (Nasdaq: CA) today announced it has completed the acquisition of privately-held Hyperformix, a leading provider of capacity management software for dynamic physical, virtual, and cloud IT infrastructures.
With increasing server virtualization in large scale computing environments, the demand for capacity management is escalating. With that increased demand comes a number of new requirements, such as automation, normalization, and analytic and simulation modeling, all driven largely by the rapid growth and deployment of virtual servers.
"Customer demand for capacity management has transitioned from project-based, periodic analysis of physical systems, to the continuous management of dynamic virtual resource capacity to ensure the performance and availability of business services with maximum efficiency," Roger Pilc, general manager, Virtualization and Automation, CA Technologies. "Hyperformix strengthens our ability to meet this demand and provide customers with the requirements they need to effectively manage capacity in any environment."
"CA Technologies is expanding its arsenal of automated management solutions for cloud implementations with its acquisition of Hyperformix," said Steve Brasen, senior analyst for Enterprise Management Associates. "Combining the predictive analytics and modeling capabilities of the Hyperformix capacity management products with CA Technologies impressive automation capabilities will undoubtedly enable a powerful and comprehensive cloud and virtualization management support platform."
