ISLANDIA, N.Y. and SLOUGH, England, May 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA) today announced that Logicalis UK, part of Logicalis, the international IT and Communications (ICT) solutions integrator, uses the company's IT management and automation solutions to manage the delivery and performance of its award-winning Cooperative Enterprise Cloud Service.

CA Technologies service automation, service assurance, and energy and sustainability management solutions are instrumental in Logicalis UK's ability to offer customers agile, low-risk, efficient and cost-effective cloud services.

Logicalis UK recently invested 7.3 million pounds in a new data center, which sits at the heart of its cloud-based offerings. The state-of-the-art facility is designed to offer high-density computing, with capacity for 2,500 virtual machines in a single rack. The Cooperative Enterprise Cloud Service, which offers private clouds hosted at its data center, dedicated on-site private clouds, Infrastructure-as-a-Service, and Application-as-a-Service, is built on Cisco's Unified Computing System (UCS), NetApp storage, and CA Technologies IT management tools. Logicalis selected the CA Technologies solutions for the company's product capabilities and expertise in managing complex cloud environments.

When the Cooperative Enterprise Cloud Service was launched, Logicalis UK needed to maximize its data center investment by achieving rapid customer adoption, consistent service levels and exceptional agility. By leveraging the stateless computing capabilities of Cisco UCS in tandem with CA Automation Suite for Data Centers, Logicalis UK is able to quickly provision customer cloud environments and transition workloads between virtual servers based on demand and capacity.

Logicalis UK deployed CA ecoSoftware to help measure, manage and reduce the consumption of power in the data center. It supplies status, alerting and management information to increase the reliability of operations.
