In order to compete for the award the company must be in good standing with the BBB, be a BBB accredited business and create a submission which highlights the company's ethics and integrity in the marketplace as well as internally when conducting business. A panel of judges not affiliated with the BBB read through each submission and chose the two finalists and a winner.
