Butler Community College, Kansas, Partners with Jadu for Web Content Management and Mobile Apps
Partnership to include innovative web CMS and Weejot mobile apps service that offers users a rich, seamless experience across multiple channels
CHICAGO, July 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Jadu, Inc. (www.jadu.net), a global Web Experience Management software vendor, announced today its partnership with Butler Community College in Kansas to provide the college with its innovative web CMS and www.weejot.com mobile platform. This announcement marks Jadu's continued growth in the US market as a trusted provider of web-based and mobile platforms.
With six campuses and centers—and approximately 15,000 students enrolled—Butler Community College is the second largest community college in Kansas, offering nearly 90 degree programs, 30 professional certification programs and hundreds of online courses.
"In searching for a web and mobile content management system, the college sought a flexible, innovative system that could easily grow with the ever-changing needs of the college," said Ryan Entz, Executive Director of Marketing Communications at Butler Community College.
"The web increasingly is becoming the central point of information and engagement for our stakeholders," said Entz. "Jadu's content management system and weejot.com mobile platform provides a high-performance work environment that empowers a diverse group of web contributors to create and communicate the most current and relevant content to our audiences."
Jadu recently launched the weejot.com service providing institutions with both learning tools for mobile app development using web scripting technology such as HTML and Javascript and as a communications channel for publishing apps in real-time. The service integrates seamlessly with content management systems, such as Jadu's own Universe CMS.
"As we began our requirements discussions for a content management system, it was important to me that we partnered with a company that was at the forefront of the technology curve and that could provide an environment that we could scale with," said Tom Erwin, Chief Information Officer at Butler Community College. "Of particular importance, is working with a company that understands design, human factors, security and mobility. Another selection criterion that Jadu addressed is the ability to be able to decentralize content management to help ensure that our site stays current and relevant."
"Jadu meets all of those requirements in addition to having a strong alliance with our ERP provider (Ellucian, Inc.), that will result in the development of a rich transactional environment that will provide a great experience for our varied constituencies. I am excited to be partnering with Jadu and adopting the CMS for our web channel and the weejot.com service for our mobile channel," said Erwin.
The international growth of the weejot.com service has accelerated, with Jadu now providing free developer accounts for any developers interested in building apps to the increasing community of weejot.com users.
"We're delighted to be working with Butler Community College. Through this new partnership, we are excited to continue and expand our presence in the US and Canada by providing institutions with cutting edge, accessible and innovative technologies," said Richard Forrest, Senior VP of Sales and Marketing at Jadu. "The growth of our mobile platform, weejot.com is really driving a quantum leap in higher education mobile communications in the US. It's a unique and magical product for education both as a learning tool and a communications channel."
