CINCINNATI, Ohio, Dec. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Construction Users Roundtable® (CURT®) has announced the appointment of Craig Mohr, director of global and corporate accounts, Butler Manufacturing™, to the position of co-chair of the CURT® International Committee. The new co-chair position was created in the fall of 2016 to meet the increased demands of the growing International Committee.
Started in 2010, the International Committee was formed to meet the evolving needs of global owners and contractors engaged in construction projects outside the U.S. Through forums that facilitate benchmarking of critical skills and developing protocols, CURT® has been at the forefront of driving change and demonstrating that the next level of excellence in safety standards can be achieved abroad.
"U.S. corporations have to be accountable for safety wherever they are in the world," says Joe Gionfriddo, CURT® International Committee spokesperson. "The International Committee has become an extremely valuable channel and resource for members striving to take safety concepts and protocols into markets outside the U.S."
Mohr and his co-chair counterpart, Gary Tomczak, director-global capital COE, capital projects, International Paper, will be responsible for coordination, agenda development and speaker selection for multiple international forums around the world. Through forums and resulting task forces, the International Committee offers the opportunity to develop blueprints for owners on a variety of issues, such as safety, productivity, and speed to market.
"I am thrilled about the appointment of Craig Mohr. He's a pre-eminent authority on a variety of international construction topics and also has the leadership skills and global relationships needed to bring people together to achieve a common goal," said Tomczak. "Craig is taking this new role at a critical time for the International Committee. Our forums and initiatives are gaining momentum in many global regions, helping owners and contractors improve construction safety, quality and productivity around the world."
