Businessman Kevin Doyle Finds Success in Life, Business and Giving
COUNTRYSIDE, Ill., July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The early morning of July 4, 1993 is a day Kevin Doyle will never forget; a day that helped him get to where he is today. His mother Sheilah A. Doyle was followed home from her job as a nurse on the nightshift at Little Company of Mary Hospital by two men looking to get parts from her car. These two men brutally murdered her and left her in the trunk of the car to be found by police. Despite this tragedy experienced at only seventeen, Kevin pushed himself through the pain to success and is now helping others to do that as well.
"I remember telling my mom when I was a sophomore in high school how it was my dream to attend the University of Iowa and study journalism. That was my driving factor through school," says Doyle. Doyle did achieve his goal and got his degree, keeping his promise to his mother. After working for a few years, Doyle and a partner decided to open their own business - 3 Points, LLC. Currently, 3 Points provides IT service to over 200 clients in Chicago.
A challenge was put to Doyle by a mentor who asked him about his personal vision. He realized that his personal vision of helping others through a foundation would be great way to give back to the community. Less than a month later, Doyle started the Sheilah A. Doyle Foundation (www.sadfund.org) in memory of his mother. "I realized that our family can make an impact on someone else, just as my mother did in the lives of countless people," comments Doyle.
The Sheilah A. Doyle Foundation 's goal is to help in the relief and healing of children who have lost a parent or legal guardian to murder. The foundation also offers scholarships to college bound students.
