Bush Library and Museum to Host Presidents Day Event
COLLEGE STATION, Texas, Feb. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Celebrate Washington's Birthday and honor all U.S. presidents at the 2014 Presidents Day Event, Feb. 15 at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum at Texas A&M University.
There will be events throughout the day including a genealogy workshop and screening of the HBO documentary "41".
Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, Presidents Day Event
9 a.m. to Noon: Genealogy Workshop: Exploring President Bush as a Guide to Your Family Research
This free half-day workshop will demonstrate how to search records at the National Archives, or on your own through popular genealogy websites and online resources, using President George Bush's ancestral tree as an example. Presenters will guide you through census records, military documents, digital newspaper archives, informative websites and much more.
1-4 p.m.: An Afternoon of Presidential Fun
Our Presidents Day event continues in the afternoon with fun for the whole family. The Mount Rushmore presidents will be walking around and posing for pictures. Crafts and activities for children will take place in the classroom, and local celebrities will be reading presidential books to children. Refreshments will be served and admission to the event is free.
5:30 p.m.: "41" Film Screening
The first documentary to tell George Herbert Walker Bush's story in his own words, "41" is a rare, intimate glimpse at the life and times of the 41st President of the United States. Writer and film director Jeffrey Roth will introduce the film and discuss what it was like spending that much time with a former president. The event is free, and a DVD sale, signing and reception will follow.

The first 41 museum visitors receive a "41" pin. Receive 10% off at the Museum Store all day!
Note: The museum will be open regular hours, but the offices and research room will be closed for the federal holiday.

10:30-11:30 a.m. and 12:30-1:30 p.m.: Education Program: "Celebrate Presidents Day"
Meet one of America's most exciting and dynamic Presidents, Theodore Roosevelt. This interactive portrayal will be presented by Historical Impressionist Peter Small. Mr. Small has performed across the nation including four Presidential Libraries and the History Channel. For students in grades 3-8. Available on-site and through distance learning. Free books will be distributed to on-site participants based on registration date and availability of books.
