Buscemi's Celebrates 60th Anniversary and is Named to Top 100 Pizza Chains in America

ROSEVILLE, Mich., Jan. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Original Buscemi's is celebrating 60 years in 2016 and has also announced today that they made the "Annual Top 100 Pizza Chains in the Country" list, published by Pizza Today Magazine, the nation's top pizza industry magazine. The magazine has ranked Original Buscemi's Pizza #40, moving them up over 20 positions from 2013 with annual chain-wide gross sales of $61,200,000, said Anthony Buscemi. "We are experiencing very significant growth through existing party stores converting over to Buscemi's Pizza franchises. We get several calls a day from existing party store owners wanting to convert their location. Most of our growth will be in Oakland Country and the west side. We have built up a brand name of quality over the past 60 years and people want to be a part of it. We are not just another pizza place because we offer beer, wine, liquor, local goods and lottery," said Anthony. We are a one stop shop. Buscemi's was the first to offer square pizza by the slice in Detroit, since 1959.

A family owned Michigan business with great history, Buscemi's was founded by 1956 by Paul A. Buscemi, proud veteran of WWII and recipient of the French Legion Medal of Honor, who recently passed away. "We are all proud of my father for serving our country and being the first in Metro Detroit to introduce square pizza by the slice, the Baby Sub and Torpedo Italian Submarine sandwiches," says Anthony. Now we have a whole new generation of Buscemi's. Anthony's son Paul (named after Anthony's father) oversees all the Buscemi quality brand products and distribution to franchises. Finally, Anthony's grandson, also named Anthony, making him the 3rd generation, who isn't quite old enough yet to get involved, however he looks adorable in a chef's hat.
