Burson-Marsteller Names Jim Moorhead Managing Director, U.S. Public Affairs And Crisis Practice
NEW YORK, Oct. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Burson-Marsteller, a leading global public relations and communications firm, today announced that Jim Moorhead has joined the company as Managing Director, U.S. Public Affairs and Crisis, effective October 13. Based in Washington, D.C., Moorhead will be responsible for providing strategic advice and crisis counsel to the firm's clients across practices.

Moorhead joins Burson-Marsteller from Steptoe & Johnson LLP, where he served as a Partner in the firm's Washington, D.C. office and co-chair of its crisis management practice. In those roles, he developed litigation and communications strategies for Fortune 500 companies and other major companies facing congressional, regulatory and criminal investigations; class actions; and public issues. Before that, he was Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Financial Officer for Covega Corporation in Columbia, Md. There, he was responsible for the development and leadership of the finance and legal departments, managing affairs pertaining to corporate governance, litigation, commercial agreements, regulatory compliance and intellectual property protection. Earlier in his career, he was a Principal with Miller, Miller & Canby; Associate, Investment Banking Division for Goldman, Sachs & Company; and Assistant U.S. Attorney for the United States Attorney's Office, District of Maryland.
