Common Application Programming Interface (CAPI), the industry leading interface software, patented for its revolutionary capabilities, has been further enhanced to provide additional options under user control, to reduce dependence on application customization to implement key user features.

CAPI gives the user the power to decide how they wish to handle exceptions and other operational factors, rather than being dependent on an application provider to make changes to their programs, and incurring additional costs. Among the user selectable features to CAPI are:

The ability to automatically enhance user defined regions of an image to improve the ability to view very faint legal and courtesy amounts commonly encountered on money orders
Automatically de-skew the images of items that were captured at an angle
Provide operator pop-up messages for selected exceptions, to facilitate correction and improve operator efficiency
Manage consumable requirements for endorsements, through dynamic ink usage options
Provide automatic out-sorting (on two pocket scanners) of affected items in the event of any defined exception condition, resulting in increased throughput and efficiency
