KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct. 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Burns & McDonnell has promoted seven individuals to the principal level of leadership in regional offices throughout the country. Representing less than 3.5 percent of the firm's population, principals are selected for outstanding performance, future leadership potential and technical excellence.
Paul Callahan – Denver
As the regional manager of the Environmental Studies and Permitting Group in Denver, Paul Callahan leads a team focused on environmental compliance and permitting for complex and challenging energy, transportation, mining and water development projects. He joined Burns & McDonnell in 2013 and brought with him more than 20 years of technical experience. Paul has worked on and managed projects across the western U.S. — specializing in National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and State Environmental Policy Act compliance work. He holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Gettysburg College and a master's of science degree in hydrology from the University of Montana.
Ryan Cross – St. Louis
As manager of a team of more than 50 employee-owners in St. Louis, Ryan Cross oversees substation and transmission and distribution line design to utilities and industrial clients across the U.S. Under his leadership, the team has added more than 40 people and increased sales and revenue by more than 1,000 percent since 2010. In his role, Ryan recruits, hires and trains employees, as well as manages sales and business development.
Ryan began his career at Burns & McDonnell in 2001 designing substations and underground transmission lines. He is actively involved in the Engineer's Club of St. Louis, National Society of Professional Engineers, Missouri Society of Professional Engineers and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, where he serves as the Power Engineering Society Chair. Ryan holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology and master's degree in business administration from Webster University.
Tim Faber – Chicago
Tim Faber has held a variety of roles within the transmission and distribution industry, including design engineer and project manager. His promotion to principal at the firm recognizes his ability to deliver innovative, cost-effective and successful projects to the client— whether providing design, program management or EPC support. Tim joined Burns & McDonnell in 2007 and leads a team of employee-owners in Chicago that works closely with clients to deliver safe, expansive infrastructure upgrades. He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Oral Roberts University.
Jerome Farquharson – St. Louis
Jerome Farquharson leads a team focused on compliance and critical infrastructure protection at Burns & McDonnell in St. Louis. With more than 20 years of information technology and cross-industry experience, he brings a unique blend of technical, business and project management skills which help support diverse client and industry verticals. Jerome is actively involved with North American Electrical Reliability Corporation (NERC) subcommittees and regional Information Systems Audit and Control Associations. Through his involvement, he has helped define security, regulatory compliance and utility technology solutions for critical infrastructure organizations including electric utilities, government facilities and process industries.
Jerome is certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). He holds a bachelor's and master's degree in computer science from Clark Atlanta University.
Andy Hundley – Denver
Andy Hundley serves as the department manager of the structural engineering group in Denver. Throughout his 20-year career at Burns & McDonnell, he has led the structural and architectural scope of work for multiple large-scale water projects including: 16 water treatment plants and major expansions, 15 pump stations, 14 wastewater treatment plants and 28 new and rehabilitated water storage tanks with more than 100 million gallons of water storage. Andy is a registered professional engineer in Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota and Oklahoma. He received a bachelor's degree in architectural engineering and master's degree in civil engineering from the University of Wyoming.
Travis McKinney – Brea, Calif.
As a group manager for Construction Design-Build at Burns & McDonnell, Travis McKinney is responsible for client and staff development. He manages field operations for California, coordinating construction activities, project safety, construction quality assurance, construction schedules and costs. He joined Burns & McDonnell in 2008, bringing with him 12 years of field experience. He specializes in contractor and bid evaluation, contract negotiation, construction management, site inspection and project start-up, execution and close-out. Throughout his career, he's managed and been involved with the construction of substations and overhead and underground transmission lines.
Tarkan Yuksel – Wallingford, Conn.
Tarkan Yuksel has more than 16 years of experience in project controls and management. As the project controls group manager, he oversees all project controls operations and staffing needs for Burns & McDonnell's New England office. He specializes in providing guidance, direction and assistance with resolving complex project controls issues. In 2014, he managed a team of cost analysts, schedulers, document controls and change management professionals on an award-winning, 1.5 billion dollar project.
Tarkan joined Burns & McDonnell in 2008. He holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Istanbul Technical University and a master's degree in engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
In addition to these individuals, seven employee-owners were selected for the principal level of leadership in Kansas City, Mo.
