Burns & Levinson Partners Scott Moskol and Frank A. Segall Named "Cannabis Trailblazers" by The National Law Journal

BOSTON, Oct. 1, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Burns & Levinson announced today that partner Scott Moskol and Business Law chair Frank A. Segall have been named "Cannabis Trailblazers" by The National Law Journal (NLJ) for creating one of the first national cannabis practice groups in Boston helping clients dealing with all aspects of the industry including regulatory matters, raising capital, launching operations, and exit strategies.

The NLJ noted Moskol and Segall's trailblazing collaboration with Partner Colorado Credit Union and Safe Harbor Private Banking to design "a cannabis banking program compliant with federal and state regulations." The program helps lenders and institutions trying to get into the industry, which also benefits operators, and brings credibility to the entire industry.

Moskol and Segall co-chair the Cannabis Business Advisory Group, which helps clients navigate the complex legal and business framework that surrounds the rapidly growing cannabis industry in the United States. Burns & Levinson was the first major Boston corporate law firm to develop a cannabis business practice five years ago – initially started as a medical marijuana practice – and is considered among the top law firms in the country with expertise handling high-level corporate and financing deals in the private and public markets in the cannabis market.
