DENVER, June 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Burleson LLP, a full-service law firm devoted primarily to the oil and gas industry, will host a new seminar in its ongoing educational series on June 24 titled "Looking Beneath the Surface – Legal Challenges to Drilling and Fracking Now and Tomorrow."
The complimentary event, which will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Burleson's Denver location at 1700 Lincoln Street, will cover a number of legal developments influencing exploration and production. It will also address strategies for navigating obstacles in drilling and fracking as well as the local, state and federal regulation, trespass and water issues of fracking.
Four Denver-based attorneys who are members of Burleson's Litigation Practice Group will be featured in the seminar and include:
- Gary Davenport, Partner, who has more than four decades of experience representing clients in complex commercial litigation matters with a particular focus on oil and gas issues.
- Michael McGloin, Partner, who has appeared in state and federal courts in more than 20 states, handling a number of disputes related to energy, environmental and natural resources as well as antitrust, insurance coverage, construction and business torts.
- Krista Tushar, Partner, who has practiced law for more than two decades, focusing on a wide range of oil and gas disputes in a number of states, including Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and Utah, as well as a variety of business litigation.
- Kyle Davenport, Senior Associate, whose background includes representing individuals and companies in virtually every phase of the production and sale of oil and gas, including state and federal regulations.
Managing Partner Rick Burleson said, "This event underscores our commitment to deliver companies both in and out of the energy sector critical knowledge on relevant regional and national issues impacting their operations. Our goal is to give clients the understanding they need to mitigate exposure to legal risks and make the best decisions possible when it comes to managing their businesses."
Gary Davenport said the event is sure to bring participants a wide range of insight on the specific issues impacting drilling and fracking in the Rocky Mountain region.
"The Rockies is a vast area of operations for the energy industry, and each basin is experiencing its own particular drilling and fracking legal issues," explained Gary Davenport. "We want to make oil and gas companies aware of the litigation risks at the local, state and federal levels and deliver practical advice to help companies avoid disputes and maximize the potential of this burgeoning region."
The event is part of the firm's Trends, Terms and Lessons Learned series, which is designed to encourage open discussions on significant issues impacting the energy industry and other sectors served by Burleson.
