HOUSTON, March 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Burleson LLP, a full-service corporate law firm with a focus on the oil and gas sector, announced today that it will host a four-part complimentary webinar series titled, "Drilling Down on Strategic Alternatives in the Current Energy Crisis." The first event, "Part 1: The CFO's Dilemma – Proactive Next Steps," will be held on April 1 from noon to 1 p.m. CDT.
The webinar will include a discussion by a panel of energy attorneys and capital advisers. Moderated by bankruptcy partner Trent Rosenthal, the panel will deliver key insights on loan covenants, waivers and extensions, debt-to-equity conversion, new capital, mergers and acquisitions, and consolidations.
Rosenthal, who is Board Certified in Business Bankruptcy Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, oversees Burleson's strategic alliances with other leading firms to deliver broad-based, customized bankruptcy and restructuring services to companies in a diverse range of industries.
He said the webinar series reflects the firm's depth of knowledge while underscoring its commitment to bringing clients insight and understanding of important issues impacting their business.
"The changes that have occurred in the U.S. and global oil markets have left energy companies with questions on a wide range of financial matters," he explained. "Our goal in organizing this series is to bring together in-house knowledge leaders with outside industry authorities to help companies reduce exposure to risk and better manage market volatility."
In addition to Rosenthal, the first event will feature:
- Douglas Draper, an attorney with Heller, Draper, Patrick, Horn & Dabney, LLC, who primarily handles matters involving creditor and debtor rights. He has represented bondholders, creditors' committees, and debtors in large commercial and business cases. He is particularly experienced in the bankruptcy aspects of environmental issues as well as the abandonment of oil and gas wells.
- Mark Jones, a partner in Burleson's Houston office, who concentrates his practice on a wide range of transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions. He is particularly experienced in establishing competitive processes for potential buyers, due diligence and drafting of purchase agreements, and business combination transactions, such as joint ventures.
- Allen Parks, a managing director of OFSCap, LLC, who has nearly 15 years of investment banking experience, distinguished by his expertise in merger and acquisition advisory services for the oil and gas sector. He has advised on numerous transactions for a wide range of notable industry clients, including Halliburton, Bristow, and Tidewater.
- James C. Row, the founder of OFSCap and chief executive officer for Producers Energy, LLC, an oil and gas operator in Louisiana and Texas. His background includes various areas of energy finance, including producer finance, project finance, drilling programs, securities, and risk management.
In addition to the April 1 event, the series will also include sessions on April 22, covering public company boards of directors and corporate governance; May 13, on finding hidden value; and June 3, presenting a case study of proactive corporate strategies.
