CARY, N.C., Sept. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Burger 21®, an award-winning, "beyond the better burger" fast casual franchise, is proud to announce its Cary, N.C. restaurant is holding a food drive for PORCH – WesternWake, a local non-profit organization that collects non-perishable food items for local families in need right here in Cary, Apex and Morrisville. Through Sept. 21, the restaurant will be accepting non-perishable goods for the local charity. Additionally, Burger 21 plans to donate 10 percent of sales on Sept. 21 to PORCH – WesternWake as part of its "B Charitable" initiative.

As part of the company's "B Charitable" initiative, each Burger 21 restaurant donates 10 percent of the day's sales to a local school or charity partner on the 21st of every month. To date, Burger 21 has provided more than $127,000 in contributions company-wide, demonstrating its strong commitment to the communities it serves.
Also on Sept. 21, Burger 21 Cary will introduce the month's featured burger and signature shake, the Bayou Burger and Salted Caramel Pretzel Shake. The burger creation features a homemade Andouille sausage and turkey burger topped with a skewer of blackened grilled shrimp, sriracha, and remoulade sauces, and the Salted Caramel Pretzel Shake is a blend of creamy vanilla ice cream, Ghirardelli® caramel sauce, Monin® Salted Caramel syrup and crunchy pretzel pieces. Both menu items will be available through Oct. 20.
In addition to offering guests a variety of chef-inspired beef and non-beef burger creations, like the Tex-Mex Haystack, Spicy Thai Shrimp, Black Bean and Mediterranean Chicken, the Cary location offers fresh salads, hand-crafted shakes, a gluten-free menu, as well as craft beer and wine by the glass.
