Burg Simpson Attorney Appointed By President Obama to Co-Chair National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform
DENVER, Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Burg Simpson Eldredge Hersh & Jardine, P.C. is pleased to announce that the Hon. Alan K. Simpson, has been appointed by President Barack Obama to co-chair a National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform. Mr. Simpson, a former Republican Senate Whip will lead the 18 member panel alongside former White House Chief of Staff Erskine Bowles.
The Commission is charged with identifying policies to improve the fiscal situation in the medium term and to achieve fiscal sustainability over the long run. Specifically, the Commission is tasked with providing recommendations designed to balance the budget, excluding interest payments on the debt, by 2015.
