Bunker Hill Community College Wins National Communications Award

BOSTON, March 29, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- BHCC Magazine, a publication of Bunker Hill Community College, and the 2012-2013 BHCC Student Handbook each won a gold medal in the annual Paragon contest sponsored by the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR). Taking home the silver was the 2012-2013 College Catalog.

The awards honor outstanding achievement in communications. This year about 260 colleges submitted more than 1,700 entries for the contest. Eighty marketing and PR professionals from around the country donated their time to review and score the entries. The awards were announced in March at NCMPR's national conference in Chicago.

NCMPR is an affiliate of the American Association of Community Colleges. The organization represents marketing and public relations professionals at community and technical colleges throughout the United States.

Launched six years ago, the Bunker Hill Community College's magazine has now earned its third gold award from NCMPR, having received golds in 2009 and 2007, along with a silver award in 2011. The magazine also won recognition from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) this year, with honorable mentions in the northeast regional competition for Writing and Overall Magazine. CASE is an international organization of education institutions. Its annual awards recognize accomplishments that have lasting impact, demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and deliver exceptional results.
