Bunker Hill Community College Offers College Course in North Quincy
BOSTON, Nov. 23, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Beginning in January Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) will offer an introductory psychology course for college credit in North Quincy.
"BHCC draws many students from this community," said Nuri Chandler-Smith, Dean of Academic Support and College Pathways Programs. "Locating courses in the communities where our current and potential students live, work or seek services makes the transition to college easier and encourages students to regard a college education as more attainable as they look to the future."
The course, Principles of Psychology (PSY-101-BCQ), will be offered at the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center's Quincy site, 275 Hancock Street, 2nd Floor, North Quincy. The class meets on Mondays from 6 to 8:45 p.m., starting January 25, 2016.
Principles of Psychology, a highly transferrable course that fulfills requirements for a wide array of majors at BHCC, is an introductory psychology course that covers a survey of information and theory. Topics include the brain and behavior, research methods, learning, consciousness, motivation, emotion, human growth and development, personality, abnormal behavior and psychotherapy, social cognition and understanding.
