"I can't say enough about Bunker Hill Community College," McQuade said. "The faculty and the staff were top-notch and really cared about their students." McQuade particularly remembers his journalism professor, James J. Rogash, and Richard Klayman, a professor of history. "In Professor Rogash's class, I discovered a knack for the who-what-when-where-why and how of journalism," McQuade said. "In Professor Klayman's class, I discovered an ability to use the written word to communicate a message."
Since 2000, McQuade has been the military and political affairs reporter for WTVR in Richmond. After graduating from Bunker Hill Community College, McQuade transferred to Northeastern University. "I paid for tuition by selling popcorn and ice cream at the historic Boston Garden," he said. "Following graduation, I landed an entry-level position as a video archivist at WBZ-TV in Boston. It was such a treat working with many of the folks I grew up watching."
McQuade's mother, Anne McQuade, is also a graduate of Bunker Hill Community College.
