BOSTON, Oct. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Four publications created by Bunker Hill Community College have received Medallion Awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) communications competition. The awards were announced October 6, 2015, at the NCMPR District 1 Conference in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
A Gold Medallion of Excellence award went to the new International Center publication in the College Viewbook category. The Admissions package garnered the College a Silver Medallion of Excellence Award in the Booklet category. A Silver Medallion of Excellence Award in the Print Advertisement category went to an advertisement with the headline, "Get ready to make the play of a lifetime." The ad appeared in the 2015 Official Red Sox Yearbook, the number one collectible souvenir.
BHCC Magazine earned a Silver Medallion of Excellence Award. This is the fourth time that the College has won a silver award for the magazine. Launched eight years ago, Bunker Hill Community College's magazine has earned five gold awards, in 2013, 2012, 2011, 2009 and 2007, and three silver awards, in 2011, 2014 and 2015.
The Medallion Awards honor outstanding achievement in communications. The competition is the only regional contest of its kind that honors excellence exclusively among marketing and public relations professionals at two-year colleges. This year approximately 35 colleges submitted 312 entries for the contest. Forty external marketing and PR professionals from around the country reviewed and scored the entries.
NCMPR, an affiliate of the American Association of Community Colleges, represents marketing and public relations professionals at community and technical colleges throughout the United States. District 1 includes Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont, as well the United Kingdom and the Canadian Provinces of New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Quebec.
