SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Bugcrowd, the innovator in crowdsourced security, today announced a significant addition to its team with the hiring of Kymberlee Price as its Senior Director of Operations. In this role, Price will be responsible for optimizing Bugcrowd's performance for both its customers and researchers and helping its more than 13,200 Crowd members with ongoing skill development, education and overall participation in Bugcrowd's programs.
Price will be working directly with the Crowd to increase the strategic value provided to Bugcrowd's customers by driving vulnerability disclosure quality initiatives, training, and Crowd loyalty programs. Prior to this appointment, Price was most recently the Director of the Synack Red Team. She has also held prominent security roles at Microsoft and BlackBerry, and pioneered the first security researcher community outreach program in the software industry.
"Bugcrowd has two sets of customers: The clients that we secure, and the researchers who find the vulnerabilities. Kymberlee will play a key role in increasing the value working with Bugcrowd for both sides of our business; providing researchers around the world with the best and most valuable community to be a part of, and our customers with the most cost-effective, flexible program offerings designed to best suit their needs," said Casey Ellis, CEO and co-founder of Bugcrowd.
"Over the years I have found it to be highly rewarding to design and implement operational programs that both improve application security and achieve a win-win resolution for developers and security researchers," said Kymberlee Price. "While there are other excellent vulnerability discovery and security response programs in the industry, I am excited to join Bugcrowd's open, community-grown environment and contribute to the wide variety of strategic security programs offered to Bugcrowd customers."
Kymberlee will be delivering a presentation on using third party libraries in software development titled, "More Libraries! More Vulnerabilities! More Things!" on Saturday, December 6 at the nbt hacker con, which will be held at Salesforce's San Francisco Office at 121 Spear Street. Kymberlee has also been accepted to speak with Jake Kouns of Risk Based Security at the invite-only Kaspersky Security Analyst Summit in Cancun, Mexico, in February 2015.
"The addition of Kymberlee and her tremendous security pedigree is a testament to what our organization is all about: identifying and bringing together of the best talent available to help our customers achieve premium results from its security testing programs," concluded Ellis. "We are very pleased to have her join the team."
