Buffets, Inc. Helps Families Trace Their Roots And Celebrate Grandparents Day, September 9
Buffets, Inc. provides free family trees to connect generations
GREER, S.C., Sept. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Gather the family and celebrate National Grandparents Day with Buffets, Inc. on Sunday, September 9. The owners of Ryan's®, HomeTown® Buffet and Old Country Buffet® are helping generations connect with a FREE interactive activity that builds family trees. The app will be available on their official Facebook pages: www.Facebook.com/RyansBuffet, www.Facebook.com/HomeTownBuffet and www.Facebook.com/OldCountryBuffet.
Simply "Like" an official Buffets Facebook page to download the application for your free "family tree" for your child or grandchild. Each family tree comes complete with instructions for building the branches. Children may customize their trees with the help of their parents and grandparents. Each family tree also includes a special invitation that children may personalize and gift to their grandparents for a celebratory dinner at Buffets. The invitation offer is a coupon good for two free kid's meals with the purchase of an adult dinner buffet, and is valid through September 30.
"National Grandparents Day is more than a day to honor grandparents. It is a day to help children understand how the members of their family are connected, and how the different generations contribute to their family history and their individual life story," said Alice Crowder, Vice President of Marketing for Buffets. "The Buffets family tree activity encourages families to share their histories with their younger generations and to learn about and remember the people who make each and every one of their families special."
The family tree app allows the user to plug in their name and the names of their relatives, including their parents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandparents and even great grandparents. Once the family tree is completed online, it may be printed as a coloring piece. Users may also select to "share" their family trees with loved ones and friends by posting it to their own Facebook wall. The app will be available on the Buffets Facebook pages starting September 6.
"The family tree app on Facebook allows fans to interact with Buffets and bridges the gap between the online and offline relationship with customers and the brand," said Kristen Link, Director of Clients Services for Conversation, the agency that developed the app.
