LOS ANGELES, Aug. 9, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Buddy Bike, LLC is raising funds to provide one of their adaptive tandem bicycles, called The Buddy Bike, to East Side Riders Bike Club (ESRBC). ESRBC provides opportunities to vulnerable kids in South Central Los Angeles by steering them in a new direction - with bicycles! The Buddy Bike would allow kids with special needs to ride along with the club.
Patterson recently viewed a video on Facebook (WATCH THE VIDEO) and was inspired by the efforts of ESRBC. She felt their mission was in line with the mission at Buddy Bike to encourage more families to ride bicycles. She decided to provide a substantial discount and to help raise funds so the club could receive a Buddy Bike.
The Buddy Bike allows riders with disabilities to experience the thrill of riding a bicycle with the whole family - or in this case their community. A Buddy Bike would be helpful for any riders in the club with special needs or for some of the new riders who aren't comfortable riding on their own yet. The Buddy Bike can help riders of all ages to learn cycling skills while keeping up with the crew.
Recumbent & Tandem Riders Magazine, based in southern California, was the first to pledge a contribution to East Side Riders Bike Club bringing the current fundraising goal to $855. Once the funds are raised, the club will be able to pick up the Buddy Bike at the warehouse in Chino, California.
To contribute please contact Shelley Patterson at Buddy Bike at 786.489.2453 or [email protected].
East Side Riders Bike Club is also raising funds at https://www.gofundme.com/beast-classandBikeBuddy. Donors should specify that funds are for the Buddy Bike.
