Buckyballs: World's Best Selling Desktoy Donates 100% of Online Profits to the Buckminster Fuller Institute
Company commits to inspiring global change through support of $100,000 Buckminster Fuller Challenge
NEW YORK, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Buckyballs, The Amazing Magnetic Desktoy You Can't Put Down! announces it will donate 100% of profits from its site www.getbuckyballs.com for the next four Mondays (10/25, 11/1, 11/8, 11/15) to the Buckminster Fuller Institute's Buckminster Fuller Challenge. Buckyballs parent company Maxfield & Oberton is guaranteeing a minimum gift of at least $10,000.
The Buckminster Fuller Challenge is an annual competition awarding a $100,000 to support the development and implementation of strategies having significant potential to solve humanity's most pressing problems. It attracts bold, visionary, tangible initiatives. Past winners have developed alternate means of personal mobility and designed sustainable agricultural systems to prevent ongoing desertification. But, like all privately funded non-profits, raising funds can be a challenge.
"We've always believed that creative thinking can solve tomorrow's problems today," explains Craig Zucker, CEO of Maxfield & Oberton. "Playing with Buckyballs inspires that kind of thinking, but the BFI does an even better job and helps the world on a grand scale."
"We could not be more delighted with this generous and brilliant fundraising campaign," said Elizabeth Thompson, Executive Director of the Buckminster Fuller Institute. "I have no doubt playing with Buckyballs catalyzes creative breakthroughs and, knowing that the purchase of this totally addictive toy is helping us build the world Bucky envisioned is very inspiring."
