SEOUL, Korea, April 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- BTL Medical Technologies Korea, Ltd., a division of BTL Aesthetics, manufacturers of the award-winning, non-invasive fat reduction treatment, BTL Vanquish ME, today announced the filing of a patent infringement lawsuit against Lutronic Corporation before the Seoul Central District Court.
The lawsuit claims that one of BTL Aesthetics' patents is infringed upon by Lutronic's enCurve product. The litigated patent specifically protects the company's unique body shaping technology and fundamental component of the BTL Aesthetics Vanquish ME body shaping system which utilizes selective radio frequency energy to heat and ultimately destroy fat cells.
BTL Aesthetics is asking the court to prohibit Lutronic from further infringement by ceasing the manufacturing and distribution of the enCurve in Korea. Additionally, the lawsuit requests that Lutronic surrender any infringing products in the company's possession.
"As pioneers in contactless, radio frequency fat reduction, we are prepared to vigorously protect our intellectual property and prevent any continued infringement," said Tomas Schwarz, Managing Director of BTL Aesthetics. "Our products feature revolutionary technology and engineering, and we will remain resolute in protecting the years of research and investment that have gone into our innovative treatments, and have solidified us as leaders in the aesthetic industry," added Schwarz.
About BTL Vanquish ME
