QUINCY, Mass., March 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- BT today announced that it has received two Cisco Powered designations for TelePresence: Network Connection and Managed TelePresence.
The Network Connection designation applies to Cisco TelePresence solutions that include managed Wide Area Network (WAN) connectivity provided via BT's global MPLS network. The Cisco TelePresence services designation applies to Cisco TelePresence solutions that include BT One CarePreferred, BT Conferencing's end-to-end support solution for Cisco TelePresence.
Osvaldo Bianchi, vice president of worldwide channels for Cisco, said: "To achieve these certifications, BT proved their expertise and commitment. Passing Cisco's rigorous Managed Service Channel Program audit demonstrates that BT has successfully built a sophisticated managed services practice that will deliver a great customer experience."
Jeff Prestel, general manager of BT Conferencing's Video Business Unit, said: "BT's managed services make video conferencing easy to use, cost effective and reliable for our customers. These new certifications demonstrate both BT's expertise and commitment to providing customers with a seamless, global, managed TelePresence solution that helps them meet and accelerate their business benefits."
In addition, BT's participation in the Cisco Managed Services Channel Program indicates that its Cisco Powered TelePresence services have undergone a rigorous third-party assessment and have met requirements based on the Information Technology Infrastructure Library® (ITIL) framework of best practices and market and industry requirements. Its Cisco Powered designations are in addition to BT's existing TelePresence Global Authorized Technology Provider designation from Cisco.
A Cisco Powered designation recognizes a solution provider's investment in the tools and processes necessary to provide high-quality network-based managed services. It not only acknowledges that the managed service provider has invested in industry-leading Cisco solutions, but also entitles the solutions provider to take advantage of Cisco resources to envision, build, market and sell its managed services, contributing to market acceptance and adoption.
BT's expertise in managing video conferencing for its customers, coupled with coverage provided by BT's extensive global IP network across 170 countries and 24x7x365 helpdesk support and remote equipment monitoring capabilities, helps ensure high quality conferencing services for customers worldwide. Through its managed services, BT helps customers maximize the financial, social and strategic business benefits of video conferencing.
