BSA LifeStructures Adds Engineering Expertise in Denver

DENVER, June 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Six engineers from the recently closed Deerns America office in Denver have joined BSA LifeStructures, a nationally recognized architecture and engineering firm specializing in healing, learning and discovery.

Joining BSA LifeStructures as of June 1 are:

• Kate Allen, who served as managing director of Deerns America and will serve as a principal-in-charge with BSA LifeStructures
• Clark Bishop, director, engineering services, Denver
• Chris Douglas, senior electrical engineer
• Joshua Armstrong, senior mechanical engineer
• Noble Lilliestierna, mechanical engineer
• Mark Buss, senior mechanical designer

"It's not often that a firm, in one move, can add this much talent, experience and market knowledge and relationships," said BSA LifeStructures President Melissa Davis. "The fact that they come to us as a fully functioning team means our clients will benefit immediately."

With Deerns, the engineers worked on a number of high-profile projects, including the Denver International Airport, the OVG Unilever Campus and the Green House Data Center. The team also has prior experience in healthcare and higher education with an emphasis on sustainable design.

After Deerns announced plans to close its Denver office, Allen sought ways to keep the team together. She contacted BSA LifeStructures Chairman Kevin Token for advice, and he quickly suggested that Allen's team join his firm.

This move adds to a BSA LifeStructures office that already was growing. The firm opened its Denver office in 2015, and on the strength of projects such as UCHealth's Greeley Health Center and Carbon Valley Health Center, it has grown from one person to a dozen.
