Bryant Miller Olive lawyer JoLinda Herring appointed Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Florida Memorial University
MIAMI, May 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- JoLinda Herring, a prominent lawyer in the Miami office of Bryant Miller Olive, has been named as Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Florida Memorial University, and begins a three-year term this week.
Herring's passion for education and her desire to get involved in the community led her to join the Board of Trustees in 2007. As a member of the Board, she provides guidance on policies to the university and assists with fundraising campaigns for the school, the only historically black university in south Florida.
As Chairman of the Board, Herring plans to work with the university to increase enrollment, to energize supporters of the school throughout Florida, and to complete a successful capital campaign.
Herring first joined Bryant Miller Olive in 1994 after completing her first year of law school at Florida State University. Her law degree, coupled with a MBA in Finance from Vanderbilt University, provide an excellent background for her work in Public Finance law.

She currently serves as Bond Counsel to the Sunshine State Governmental Financing Commission and has served as counsel to a number of governmental entities, including Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties and the cities of Miami, Ocala and Panama City Beach.
