Bruce McBarnette Hosts Reception at Egyptian Center

WASHINGTON, Feb. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Bruce McBarnette Esq., president of Summit Connection LLC; former TV anchor and current WEAA Radio news director, Beverly Burke; and Dr. Koura Gibson hosted the Screen Actors Guild Award Art Reception at the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Center in Washington, DC on Jan. 30, 2011. The reception benefitted two charities, Friends of Ballou and Charlie's Place.
Bruce McBarnette, a member of the Screen Actors Guild, said, "Given the change of government that occurred in Egypt during the weekend and political turmoil surrounding it, I am very impressed the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Center was willing to move forward with this event."

Charlie's Place is a homeless service center near Dupont Circle in Washington, DC. Bruce McBarnette is one of the volunteers at Charlie's Place. Friends of Ballou, helps students at Ballou High School and is sponsoring some students on an Egyptian Kingdom tour this year, lead by Dr. Koura Gibson.
This art reception featured terracotta pottery from Africa and work by artists Myra Maslowsky, Eloy Areu, and Lucia Wong; and the live broadcast of the Screen Actors Guild Award Ceremony. Although the event was not sponsored by the Screen Actors Guild, several members attended.
