Bruce McBarnette, Former TV Anchor Beverly Burke, and Dr. Koura Gibson Host Screen Actors Guild Award Art Reception in Washington, DC
WASHINGTON, Jan. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Bruce McBarnette, Esq., president of Summit Connection LLC; former TV anchor Beverly Burke, and Dr. Koura Gibson are hosting the Screen Actors Guild Award Art Reception at the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Center in Washington, DC on Jan. 30, 2011 at 6pm. The art reception will benefit the charities Friends of Ballou and Charlie's Place.
Bruce McBarnette, a member of the Screen Actors Guild, as well as president of Summit Connection LLC, said, "The hosts and the benefiting charities are thankful to the Egyptian community and to so many people who are helping to make this event possible. Charlie's Place is a homeless service center near Dupont Circle in Washington, DC. Friends of Ballou, helps students at Ballou High School and is sponsoring some students on an Egyptian Kingdom tour this year.
This art reception will feature terracotta pottery from Africa and work by artists Myra Maslowsky, Eloy Areu, and Lucia Wong. The live broadcast of the Screen Actors Guild Award ceremony will also be shown. Although the event is not sponsored by the Screen Actors Guild, several actors who are members will attend, as well as diplomats in Washington, DC.
