SANTA MONICA, Calif., May 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Legendary Grammy winning singer-songwriter Bruce Hornsby had one of his biggest first week sales with his 429 Records debut "BRIDE OF THE NOISEMAKERS"—A 2CD collection of 25 handpicked live performances. Entering the Billboard Top 200 at #125 was especially significant as the project was sold exclusively on Amazon.com and AmazonMP3.com that week and for the next month until its wide availability on June 7th. "BRIDE OF THE NOISEMAKERS" was recorded live on tour in various venues between 2007 and 2009. The live settings effectively capture the spirit of spontaneous creativity that Bruce and the band are renowned for.

The debut of "BRIDE OF THE NOISEMAKERS" marks the labels second Top 200 entry in as many weeks as the recent #13 debut of Robbie Robertson's acclaimed "HOW TO BECOME CLAIRVOYANT" marked the singer/songwriter/guitarist's highest chart position in his esteemed solo career.
For Hornsby the magic of a live performance is paramount in his search for the perfect musical moment---particularly in conjunction with The Noisemakers where he seamlessly combines elements of rock, jazz, r&b and modern classical to create a distinctive style. The epitome of a musical family, The Noisemakers consists of bassist J.V. Collier (who has played with Hornsby 17 years), keyboardist/organist John "JT" Thomas (21 years), reed player Bobby Read (18 years), guitarist/mandolin player Doug Derryberry (13 years) and drummer Sonny Emory (nine years). Digital versions of the album at Amazon.com include exclusive bonus tracks "The Way It Is" and "Mandolin Rain." BRIDE OF THE NOISEMAKERS will be available everywhere on June 7. "Shadow Hand" is the first single to radio and was one of the "Most Added" songs at Triple A radio the first week out. Hornsby will be on tour in the U.S. throughout the spring and summer including a performance at Bonnaroo on June 12.
Says Hornsby: "I'm happy to now be hanging out with Adele on the Billboard 200 and I'm also extremely pleased that the classical composer, Elliott Carter, at 102 years old, is now represented on the Billboard charts, with our excerpt of his piece, 'Catenaires.'"
