"We are extremely pleased that Bruce has chosen to join our firm. His boardroom presence and his distinguished record as a leader and 'bet the company' problem solver are well known. The addition of his unique experience and skill set is an important development for our growing platform," said AGG Managing Partner Glenn P. Hendrix.
In his distinguished legal career, Hawthorne served on the senior leadership teams of two Fortune 100 companies: as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Electronic Data Systems (EDS, now HP Enterprise Services) and as Executive Vice President and Chief Staff Officer of Sprint. Prior to these roles, he was a partner at King & Spalding for 21 years where he provided leadership to the development of its corporate practice.
In 2008, Hawthorne co-founded a company dedicated to helping law firms and their clients maximize value through best practices and cutting-edge collaboration technology.
"I'm very excited to return to private practice and to do so with AGG," said Hawthorne. "I've learned a great deal from being both a buyer and seller of law firm services, and my new role with AGG puts me in a position where I can really make a difference. AGG is perfectly positioned to meet the demand for best in class services and true value being sought by business clients today. The firm is already a respected provider for major national and global companies, and it is a great platform to provide sophisticated legal services and a winning value proposition."
Jonathan Golden, AGG Chairman, said, "I've known Bruce for more than 20 years, as an adversary, as a collaborator and as a friend. We've positioned him to help us in a major way to achieve our growth objectives and to draw other high performers to us. Our firm has set an ambitious course for itself. As we begin our second 60 years, we stand for best in class service and unsurpassed value, and we plan significant growth. There is no doubt in my mind that we will succeed together."
