Brown Advisory Welcomes New Partners Porter Schutt And Bill Dugdale In Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Del., Feb. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Brown Advisory, a leading independent investment management firm with approximately $33 billion in client assets, today announced the appointment of Porter Schutt and Bill Dugdale as Partners in Wilmington. Mr. Schutt will oversee the Wilmington office and leverage his expertise in global equities to help develop innovative solutions for private clients and nonprofits. Mr. Dugdale will be primarily responsible for the office's client service and advisory functions, while also sharing his investment expertise with the firm.

Schutt joins Brown Advisory from Marvin & Palmer Associates, Inc., a global equity management firm, where he was a Partner and Portfolio Manager for emerging markets and domestic large-cap growth equity portfolios. Prior to that, he spent four years in institutional sales for Peregrine Securities in Hong Kong before spending four years in Hong Kong with Goldman Sachs Asia. Schutt earned a B.A. from the University of Virginia. He serves as director or advisor for a number of nonprofit organizations, including Longwood Gardens, Delaware Wild Lands, the Open Space Council for the State of Delaware, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, The Conservation Fund and the Brandywine Chapter of Ducks Unlimited.
Dugdale comes to Brown Advisory from Friess Associates, a Wilmington-based investment firm, where he most recently served as Client Relationship Manager and portfolio specialist. During his nearly 20-year tenure at the firm, Mr. Dugdale advised a diverse range of institutional, intermediary, and high net worth clients and was extensively involved in the investment management process, including eight years managing portfolios. Dugdale earned a B.A. from Cornell University. He serves on the board of the St Michael's School and Nursery, and is a past President of the Next Generation of The Delaware Community Foundation.
