Brown & Toland Physicians earned four out of four stars on the 2012 CAPG Standards of Excellence Survey, giving the San Francisco medical group "Elite" status, according to results released by CAPG May 18 at its annual conference. The recognition honors Brown & Toland for its performance in care management, patient-centered care, health information technology, and accountability and transparency.
"The standards for this survey have become more and more rigorous each year, which is why we are so proud to again be ranked at the top of all California medical groups," said Richard Fish, CEO of Brown & Toland. "As one of the Medicare Pioneer accountable care organizations, we plan to continue to provide patients in the San Francisco Bay Area a truly patient-centered care experience, built on a solid foundation of healthcare technology and customized care management services."
This year, 73 medical groups and independent practice associations representing 11 million patients – roughly 90 percent of the HMO patient market – participated in the survey.
