Brother Enforces P-Touch® Tape Cassette Patents
BRIDGEWATER, N.J., April 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Brother Industries, Ltd. owns patents covering tape cassettes used in its P-Touch® labeling machines. Brother is committed to vigorously enforcing those patent rights and recently filed the three following legal actions:
On February 26, 2013, Brother filed a patent infringement case in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware against Aster Graphics, Inc., LD Products, Inc. and the Supplies Guys LLC, asserting infringement of United States Patents Nos. 8,382,389 entitled "Tape Cassette," 6,116,796 entitled "Tape Label Printing Device," 5,964,539 "Tape-Shaped Label Printing Device," 5,653,542 entitled "Tape Cassette" and D647, 127 entitled "Tape Cartridge For Tape Printing Machine."
On March 1, 2013, Brother filed suit in the same court against Sophia Global LLC, My Supply Buy LLC and Nextag, Inc., asserting infringement of United States Patents Nos. 6,116,796 entitled "Tape Label Printing Device," 5,964,539 "Tape-Shaped Label Printing Device" and 5,653,542 entitled "Tape Cassette."
And, on March 5, 2013, Brother filed suit in Delaware against Chi Kin Wong, doing business as CW Media Pro, asserting infringement of United States Patents Nos. 6,116,796 entitled "Tape Label Printing Device," 5,964,539 "Tape-Shaped Label Printing Device" and 5,653,542 entitled "Tape Cassette."
