Brooklyn's Premier Urban Winery Launches Housemade Wines
High quality Brooklyn-made wines now available on tap and by the bottle at Brooklyn Winery
BROOKLYN, N.Y., July 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- A mere nine months after opening, Williamsburg standout Brooklyn Winery has released its first eight housemade wines. Each of these high quality wines is available exclusively on tap in the Brooklyn Winery wine bar, with some wines available by the bottle to take home. Varietals include Riesling and Chardonnay—each of which has been carefully crafted in three distinct styles—a Rose, and a Pinot Noir. Tasting flights are also offered in the wine bar, allowing customers to compare and contrast the different varietals and winemaking styles.
"The release of our first wines really serves as an actualization of our goals," says co-founder Brian Leventhal. "We are so proud of this accomplishment, and even more pleased with the superior quality of the resulting product."
Winemaker and California transplant Conor McCormack has built a winemaking program based on crafting signature small batch wines focused on quality and the expression of the fruit. Pillars of the Brooklyn Winery production method include starting with high quality fruit, working with great growers from excellent growing regions, and showcasing different styles of wine through alternate winemaking techniques.
Co-founder John Stires says, "Conor greatly exceeded our expectations with this first release and we're excited to see what comes next."
