Brooklyn CoLab-Factory Partners with TrepCamp
Mexico / US Entrepreneurship and Innovation Council Initiative to develop High Impact Entrepreneurs
Mexico's budding entrepreneurs to cross pollinate with New York City entrepreneurs at Brooklyn's leading collaborative workspace in June 2016.
BROOKLYN, N.Y., May 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- This June CoLab-Factory will be hosting over 40 TrepCamp students; who are all young budding entrepreneurs from Mexico. They will study and experience the booming startup and new business community in New York and Brooklyn. The group ranging between ages 19-29 will be learning a set of core skills and mindsets before embarking on their journey to build successful startups in their home country.
"In a political climate where walls are going up between Mexico and the United States, at the CoLab-Factory here in Brooklyn we are looking forward to building bridges and collaborating with young entrepreneurs from Mexico at TrepCamp," shares CoLab-Factory Founder Shane Barbanel. TrepCampers will train for three weeks at CoLab-Factory in entrepreneurship, emerging technologies. Additionally they will visit landmark organizations such as incubators and innovation centers around the five boroughs. Each student will be assigned to a mentor who will guide them and support them through the entire program. Students will have the chance to test their competencies through real challenges. TrepCampers will also be working along side CoLab-Factory members including Propel, Humblee, Rescuing Leftover Cuisine, Coop, and New York Natives.
