Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce Winter Gala 2010 Will Celebrate Brooklyn Business' Can-do Spirit in Challenging Times
BROOKLYN, N.Y., Nov. 22, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The 2010 business cycle may have been tough – but Brooklyn is not a place for complainers. In this legendary outpost of doers and entrepreneurs, when the going gets tough, the tough get cash flow! The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce is celebrating that spirit with its 2010 Winter Gala.
Considered one of the best business holiday parties of the New York City business networking season, the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce's 2010 Winter Gala will take place Thursday evening, December 2, 2010, from 6:30-10 PM at El Caribe Country Club in Mill Basin.
Brooklyn business leaders will have plenty to celebrate:
- A vibrant commercial real estate environment
- An increased reputation for attracting and nurturing emerging technology startups to unprecedented success
- Widening opportunities for local retailers through its growing roster of Business Improvement Districts and local shopping initiatives
- Attracting new, and expanding existing educational institutions
- Rebuilding and beautifying its sizeable waterfront to boost tourism and commerce while improving the quality of life for residents
Tickets to the Brooklyn Chamber's Winter Gala networking-dinner-dance are available to all, while they last. Purchase online at www.ibrooklyn.com. Schmooze at the most sumptuous extended cocktail "hour" in town that includes a lobster feast, along with other seafood and ethnic food stations - in keeping with Brooklyn's diverse largesse. But this is a dinner-dance, after all, and hoofers can work off the caloric crustaceans by rocking out to The Dexter Lake Club Band, back by popular demand!
The event's modern format dictates no long speeches will crimp festivities, but there will be a time out to honor Regina Myer, president, Brooklyn Bridge Park, and to thank this year's sponsors. TD Bank is the Signature Sponsor, with Con Edison and National Grid as Supporters. Friends of the event include Berkeley College, Citibank, Dyker Beach Golf Course and Empire Blue Cross-Blue Shield.
"We are celebrating Brooklyn's small business community and its champions," says Carl Hum, president of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. "Brooklyn's inherent diversity and diverse job base has helped Brooklyn weather the storms of the recession. Job gains for the borough have been in the education, food services and lodging, healthcare and professional services."
