Brookdale Senior Living's Innovative Senior Care Program Donates $100,000 to North Carolina Central University Foundation
Fund will help train minority professionals in home health, elder care
BRENTWOOD, Tenn., Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Innovative Senior Care Home Health of Durham, LLC, a subsidiary of Brookdale Senior Living, today announced a donation of $100,000 to the North Carolina Central University Foundation. The donation will be used to increase the presence of minority persons in management positions in home health and/or elder care.
Funds from the gift are reserved for those students of North Carolina Central University who meet the dual criteria of having a proven financial need and demonstrable interest in working in home health or elder care.
By agreement between the parties, the funds may be invested by the Foundation in the manner it deems appropriate for achieving the objectives as agreed between the parties.
"Innovative Senior Care is privileged to partner with North Carolina Central University in this endeavor," noted Lee Anne Fein, Senior Vice President of Innovative Senior Care at Brookdale Senior Living. "There is a shortage of both talented management personnel and minority professionals in the home health and senior care industries. It is our hope that this donation will help the Foundation to add minority professionals to the talent pool in these disciplines."
Innovative Senior Care, which recently acquired Visiting Nurse Service of Durham, a home health agency operated by Durham County, provides rehabilitation, therapy and home health services to seniors and to residents in Brookdale Senior Living communities.
