A fully-integrated, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) application, the Allscripts Care Management solution automates and consolidates everyday tasks for hospital case managers including utilization management, discharge planning, clinical documentation improvement (CDI), audit management and quality management. Allscripts Care Management works in an integrated fashion with Bronx-Lebanon's Sunrise Clinical Manager™ solution, giving case managers easy access to clinical information needed to provide better patient care and streamline payment by insurers.
"Allscripts Care Management is a strong addition to our overall Sunrise deployment and will assist us with standardization of case management processes across the organization and by helping to improve the critical handoff of patients moving from the hospital to post-acute settings, whether our own long-term care facilities or elsewhere," said Dr. Robert Leviton, Chief Medical Informatics Officer of Bronx-Lebanon. "Allscripts also will help us avoid expensive denials of insurance coverage by ensuring that our patients receive the appropriate level of care defined by Interqual criteria."
Deployed in more than 700 hospitals nationwide, Allscripts Care Management can be installed quickly – in as little as 90 days – and efficiently with minimal IT support.
Agreement Extends Bronx-Lebanon's Connected Community of Health
Bronx-Lebanon's selection of Allscripts Care Management expands the health system's significant commitment to Allscripts technology. Bronx-Lebanon recently completed deployment of Allscripts solutions in the Emergency Department as well as within a 40-physician multispecialty practice – a first step towards putting the ambulatory EHR in all 27 of Bronx-Lebanon's outpatient clinics.
Both recent activations build upon Bronx-Lebanon's use of Sunrise Clinical Manager™ for enhanced access to patient data and computerized physician order entry (CPOE) within its two major hospital divisions.
"Completed just two weeks after the merger of Allscripts and Eclipsys, the decision of Bronx-Lebanon, a national leader in healthcare, to add our care management solution to its deployment of Sunrise Enterprise is validation of the logic behind the merger and the strength of the new Allscripts," said Glen Tullman, Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts. “Bronx-Lebanon is ahead of the curve in utilizing our ability to connect information across virtually every care setting, creating a connected community of health that ultimately delivers better health outcomes for patients by automating care transitions across different environments.”
Sunrise Enterprise: Primed for "Meaningful Use"
The full suite of integrated Sunrise solutions, Sunrise Enterprise™ 5.5, differentiates Allscripts and its client base within the healthcare industry. The acute care Electronic Health Record solution includes extended functionality designed specifically to help healthcare organizations meet the "meaningful use" requirements of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), as well as to achieve Stage 7 in the HIMSS Analytics EMR Adoption Model.
Sunrise Enterprise 5.5. ships with Helios by Allscripts™, an industry-defining open architecture platform designed to promote enhanced exchange of data between disparate software systems while lowering total cost of ownership.
