BOISE, Idaho, Aug. 5, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The medical assistant program at the Broadview University-Boise campus has received accreditation from the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), effective August 1, 2014. This accreditation qualifies students to sit for the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Exam with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
"This is a significant achievement," says Michael McAllister, campus director for Broadview University-Boise. "We are so excited for this new opportunity that is now available to our students and graduates."
ABHES is a higher education accreditation organization specializing in the accreditation of postsecondary institutions that offer allied health education programs and the programmatic accreditation of programs leading to associate degrees or certificates in the medical assistant, medical laboratory technician and surgical technology fields. The ABHES is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
The CMA (AAMA) Exam requires a thorough, broad and current understanding of health care delivery. Only candidates who meet one of the three categories of eligibility are allowed to sit for the exam, with one being graduation from a medical assisting program accredited by the ABHES.
