Broadcom is continuing to deliver unprecedented performance and capabilities to smartphones and wearables through advances in 5G WiFi, NFC and location technology. Broadcom today announced the industry's first 5G WiFi 2x2 MIMO combo chip for smartphones, which doubles wireless performance while improving power efficiency and range. The company also introduced a family of NFC controllers, providing OEMs with highly integrated, low-power solutions that can be easily incorporated into a broad base of mobile devices.
Broadcom is also showing a range of LTE innovations at the show. The company's new turnkey reference design, targeted at the rapidly growing sub $300 LTE smartphone market, enables handset companies to quickly and efficiently develop a portfolio of affordable 4G LTE mobile devices.
