Broadcast International's New CodecSys Media Server Enables Multi-Protocol, Multi-Device Streaming for Complete 'TV Anywhere' Solution
Media Server Shown at NAB 2012 Alongside CodecSys Encoder/Transcoder and MMS for Digital Signage
SALT LAKE CITY, April 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Broadcast International (BCST.OB) announces the debut of its software-based CodecSys Media Server that streams media content from one unified source to multiple clients and devices for a complete "TV Anywhere" solution. The server, being demonstrated for the first time at NAB, was developed to extend and enhance a broadcaster's content delivery options, opening new Over the Top Television (OTT) opportunities to the myriad new video-capable devices, including PCs, cell phones, tablets, set top boxes and smart TVs.
Broadcast International is also highlighting its CodecSys Encoder/Transcoder and the latest version of its Managed Media Services for digital signage networks.
In addition to being shown in Broadcast International's Booth SU 8523, CodecSys powered solutions will be demonstrated in Fujitsu's Booth SU 5305, and IBM's Booth N 5223.
CodecSys Media Server provides multiplexing and streaming of live and on-demand HD-quality video content over the Internet using adaptive bitrate streaming. Picture quality is adjusted to bandwidth availability in real-time to ensure fluid service delivery and images that are always of the highest quality relative to the available bandwidth.
CodecSys Encoder/Transcoder is a patented multi-codec software framework that operates on standard IT hardware to encode and transcode live, file-based and cloud video streams and assets. The flexible, scalable system uses a library of software codecs and real-time processing to increase signal quality while reducing bandwidth requirements. CodecSys publishes video streams to multiple devices, with multiple profiles and formats, all from a single ingested video stream.
