Broadband Forum unveils agenda for next Broadband Acceleration Seminar (BASe)
CityFibre, Google, SK Broadband, and Telus join world-class line-up of pioneers and industry luminaries as speakers
LAS VEGAS, Oct. 10, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Cutting-edge innovations and lessons learned from the companies that are leading disruption in the communications industry will be on display at the Broadband Forum's latest Broadband Acceleration Seminar (BASe) series at the Encore Hotel in Las Vegas on Sunday, October 28, 2018.
The fifth event in the highly successful BASe series promises to be the largest and most insightful yet, with service provider insights shared by CityFibre, Google, SK Broadband, Telus, and others. Updates on pioneering technologies and solutions will be given by the breadth of the broadband ecosystem, ranging from established players like Arris, Calix, Corning, Huawei, Nokia, and Zyxel to a host of newcomers leading innovation in areas such as 5G transport and millimeter wave technologies, NG-PON2, Gfast, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the access network and connected home. Principal analyst Julie Kunstler, of Ovum, will deliver the keynote at the seminar, examining how service providers can leverage new and emerging technologies to meet rising demands for capacity and speed. Other industry luminaries will lead topic-framing panel discussions, including thought leaders from the Broadband Forum, The Fiber Broadband Alliance, and Light Reading.

BASe Las Vegas – which will take place at the Encore Hotel in Las Vegas on Sunday, October 28 – will begin with Kunstler's keynote which will set the stage for the remaining line-up to delve deeper into a range of critical topics, including 10Gbps broadband, NG-PON2, fiber extension, cloud services, the connected home and 5G. Broadband Forum CEO Robin Mersh will also share updates on the Broadband Forum's innovative work areas and provide insight into the development of its work in building standards, reference architectures, and data models for the future of the broadband industry. 5G and the Internet of Things (IoT), developments in the Forum's Cloud Central Office (CloudCO), Software Defined Access, User Services Platform (USP) and Open Broadband projects will be among the ongoing work explored.
