Brixmor Announces Grand Opening of Walmart Supercenter in Randallstown, MD
NEW YORK, Oct. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Brixmor Property Group announced the widely anticipated grand opening this Wednesday, October 17, of a 160,908 square foot Walmart Supercenter at Liberty Plaza, located 1.0 mile west of I-695 on the northeast corner of Liberty Road (Route 26) and Brenbrook Drive, in Randallstown (a suburb of Baltimore), MD. Discussions with Walmart for the development of this Walmart Supercenter began as early as 2004. Marshalls has renewed its commitment to Liberty Plaza and has signed a long-term lease extension as a result of the redevelopment. The development gives Brixmor and the community a new opportunity to welcome additional retailers and services to the center. Baltimore County and their economic development team were instrumental in making this development possible. The county offered a full component of pro-business services to allow this development to happen in an efficient manner.
Brixmor has invested over $16 million in developing the Walmart building and upgrading the entire physical plant of the property including adding a new facade, lighting, landscaping, and signage. The Walmart Supercenter, which will bring about 350 jobs, will include full-line groceries, a drive-through pharmacy with two lanes, a vision center and a hair salon.
